It’s almost impossible to shake Michael Burger and Maty Monfort, the perpetually good-natured co-hosts of ABC’s Mike & Maty, out of their awesomely positive outlook on life.

Take, for instance, the time a reporter asked the Cuban-American Monfort how she felt about the ABC station in Miami – the U.S.

market with the largest Cuban-American population – delaying their daytime show to 1:30 a.m.

“From what I’ve heard, a lot of people watch it at that time in the morning,” she said with a smile. She then added, without missing a beat, “Cubans are always up, you know.

We’re always partying somewhere, somehow.”

Burger, who is a veteran of stand-up comedy’s toughest gig – doing studio audience warm-ups for Roseanne – jumped right in to help Monfort out, in the unlikely event she might need it.

“Is that (station) manager healing, by the way?” he asked.

“Yeah,” cracked Monfort.
